Background
It’s a tough world out there, especially for women, who are regularly met with systemic oppression and discrimination at every single step of their lives. At home women have to suffer through the drugery of unpaid domestic labour and even domestic abuse, and in the workplace they are kept inclosed between the floor and a glass ceiling, all the while afraid to fall victim to rampant workplace sexual harassment.
The only way to purge this extremely hostile and vile world that we have created for women is through empowerment and education. Only when women are allowed to achieve their full strength and potential can they fight against atrocities and discrimination, and only then can they forge a new, and better world for themselves. Furthermore, education and awareness efforts will help women understand their legal protections and rights. Knowing your rights makes you wise and responsible. You can only fight against any injustice done to you at home, at work, or in society if you are
informed of your rights. But alas! Even when it comes to obtaining the education that they deserve, women have it the worst. They are constantly kept out of the education system by either narrow minded parents glued to deleterious traditions, or by the education system itself, which was degined to serve the men folk only.
Thus, to break this cycle of neglect, and to make sure that as many women have an acccess to quality education and fruitful opportunities as possible, I founded project NAARI—Network Action Advocacy for Rights Interventions.
